"...Kight‘s rendition of “House of the Rising Sun,” had me in tears... EG Kight’s performance and the show-must-go-on circumstances of her set present one of the most fascinating stories in all my years of reviewing.
A monsoon-like thunderstorm a little after 4 p.m. created a din so loud in its pelt on the tent stage that it was hard to hear the person standing next to me. Gary Porter, EG Kight’s drummer, quipped “This is like Johnny Cash in Folsom Prison” as he stared out into a sea of fans crammed into the tent to avoid the deluge. “You aren’t going anywhere.” The pops as the electricity went out twice before EG sang a note could be heard above the pelting rain. She, Porter, and guitarist [Ken] Wynn joined arms and sang a chorus of “Angel from Montgomery” a cappella before the electricity finally came back on.
EG did songs from her current album The Trio Sessions, one song from an upcoming release, and a version of “Midnight Rider” that rivaled Gregg Allman’s original. She announced that she’d had a request to do “House of The Rising Sun” and wasn’t sure she could remember it. The pathos she brought to that Animals hit from the ’60s will be burned in my brain to my last breath."
- Don Wilcock,, covering the Albany area music and arts scene

“EG Kight played the Suncoast Blues Festival in Florida with her trio. Let me tell you, it was a great show. The audience loved them. If you get a chance to work with this trio you will be dealing with top notch professionals. They are a pleasure to work with.”
– Paul Benjamin, Suncoast Blues Festival

“Class, with a Southern drawl. That’s the first thing you notice when you meet EG Kight. When EG played as a trio recently it seemed to be the perfect recipe for a wonderful night. Tight harmonies, first class musicianship and a voice you just don’t hear very often. The standing ovations EG received just confirmed what I already knew. The EG Kight Trio is a totally professional band that demands your attention and delivers each and every time.”
– Mike Dougher, Songbirds Guitar Museum, Chattanooga, TN

“EG Kight is a real gem, one of a handful of artists who reach out and make a personal connection with the audience. Her warm personality, humor, harmonies with her trio, and stellar songwriting cut across the blues spectrum, all delivered with a dynamic stage presence. EG and her trio are a real crowd pleaser, perfect for gettin’ loose and kickin’ up your heels!”
– Gary Anton, Bradfordville Blues Club, Tallahassee, FL

“I’ve been producing and promoting live blues shows for over 30 years, and working in radio for over 40, so I tend to be a little jaded. But every year at my festival there is one act that grabs me, holds me, moves me and reminds me why I love live music. This year EG Kight brought the house down and brought a tear to my eye with her heartfelt, deeply moving, personal songs, delivered in a truly touching manner. Her sweet soul shone through the songs that captured the audience and took us all to a higher plane.”
– Cam Hayden, Producer, Edmonton Blues Festival, Announcer/Producer, CKUA Radio Network, Talent Buyer, Blues at the Bow

“EG Kight has a voice that will get your attention. From the first time we heard her on the radio, we knew we had to have her perform at our festival. We met EG at the BMA’s in 2014 and loved that Southern warmth that radiates from her. She truly is the ‘Georgia Songbird.’ In 2015, we had EG at our festival and the crowd was elated with her performance. Her voice, storytelling, great songs, band, and warm personality were extraordinary. Can’t wait to see our ‘Southern Cousin’ again!!”
– Tom and Char, 2 Left Feet Blues Festival, Middlefield, CT

“EG was absolutely INCREDIBLE! She mesmerized the audience with her voice, endeared them with her stories, and wowed them with guitar!! A true artist that we were privileged to have perform at our Historic Chapel. We look forward to having her back again.”
– Tim Ellis, Chairman, Chapel Concerts Series Committee, Jacksonville Beach, FL

“EG Kight is a unique blend of southern comfort and down home goodness. Her performance invites the audience to come in and sit a spell while she and her band entertain with witty and clever songwriting and top notch musicianship. EG knows how to make her fans feel right at home.”

“A magical evening in so many ways. Our audience was mesmerized with her voice, her music and her authenticity.“
– Pat Armstrong, Athens Art Council, Athens, TN

“We’ve been promoting concerts here in Allegan since 2010 and from time to time, friends will recommend an artist for us to bring in. The request this time was for EG Kight. The first song I heard from EG on youtube was “That’s How A Woman Loves,” and before the song ended, we knew we had to have her on our stage. Her live performance was even better than what had smitten us on youtube and we can’t wait to have her back again. Personable and charming, EG engages the audience with true southern hospitality and steals their hearts like a first love, and leaves them feeling like they’ve just walked down a country road with an old friend. We highly recommend EG Kight for your next event.”
– Joe Leverence, Griswold Auditorium, Allegan, MI

“EG is an amazing singer, performer and storyteller!  We fell in love with her and her voice when she played at an employee appreciation event for us. It was the best reward for our employees – we were mesmerized! And, if that weren’t enough, she is downright genuine and has the best heart. We enjoyed her so much that we’ve had her back twice in six months.”
– Dana More, Luke Family of Brands, Hobart, IN

“I first heard EG Kight on Sirius/XM radio. I looked her up, found more great music, and immediately made arrangements for her to perform at the country club I was managing. The members wondered how I was able to get such a quality performer! Later I hired EG for a show at the club I managed, and some time later I put together a blues festival, and EG was the headliner. Each time, the audiences adored her! My wife and I built a house earlier this year, and designed it so we could have indoor concerts. EG performed there recently, and we had over 60 people, and some came from Pennsylvania and North Carolina to see her! EG is so easy to work with and always pleases the crowd. We look forward to booking her again!”
– Greg Mangan, Piney Grove Place House Concerts, Knoxville, TN

“EG Kight played southern-fried, country-flavored, rockin’ and rollin’ blues with an engaging and entertaining stage presence. Her songs are accessible. And her personality is irrepressible. In short, she’s a truly soulful and satisyfing listen.”
– Scott Skeabeck, DownTowne Listening Room, Cincinnati, OH

“EG has performed at least once at all of our festivals. She has performed both solo and with her band, and our audiences loved her both ways. On top of being a great performer and a true talent, EG Kight is a wonderful person…”
– Rags Ragsdell, producer of Eureka Springs, AR Blues Weekend; Gladstone, MO’s SummerTime BluesFest; Springfield, MO’s Greater Ozarks Blues Festival

“EG Kight is one of the most precious folks that I have met in the Blues world. Always generous with her time, smiles and words spoken out of friendship to me as well as others. When I first heard her voice I sat bolt upright and had to run to the radio to see who that was. To see her perform in concert is a thing of beauty. She warms the stage with her home spun style and music.”
– ChefJimi, Blues411

“I love how honest EG is on stage. She has the audience in the palm of her hand. In addition to her wonderful guitar playing and soulful voice, she lets you get to know her. She talks to an audience and makes every person feel like she was letting only them in on a secret. EG Kight is a masterful performer.”
– Lisa Biales, Big Song Music House, Oxford, OH

“For several years now I have attended EG’s concerts at Chattanooga’s Tropicana Room, and I’ve been a fan since that very first one. I booked EG for an event, and it was wonderful getting to know her personally. Recently I hosted a house concert and invited enough people to fill my downstairs. EG delighted the entire audience, and we were all having such a good time that, although she had begun at 7:30, she kept on playing until midnight! One woman told her, “When you sang, it was as if God were speaking right to me through you.”
Her lyrics range from bawdy to poignant – some make me laugh; others make me cry. Her voice and her guitar playing are stellar. And besides all that, she’s a wonderful, caring person. I can’t wait to hear her again!”
