EG Kight Live! A Benefit Uniting Mind, Music and Mission for Encephalitis awareness
Brick House Blue: The Station - Coworking, Meetings & Events, Plain City, OH
The event will spotlight the stories of Janice Landshof, a Plain City, OH encephalitis survivor, and EG Kight, a fellow encephalitis survivor.
Mosquitoes may be small, but the illnesses they can transmit can have devastating consequences. Viruses such as West Nile virus and La Crosse encephalitis can cause neurological disease, acquired brain injury, and lifelong health challenges. In some cases, these illnesses can be fatal. Increased awareness of symptoms and early diagnosis are critical to improving outcomes and saving lives.
During the evening, Janice Landshof will share her personal journey of survival and recovery. Her husband, Bill Landshof, will also speak from the caregiver’s perspective, offering insight into the ongoing impact encephalitis has on families and loved ones.
EG will perform live music and share her own experience living with the effects of encephalitis while continuing her career as a touring artist, more than 15 years after her diagnosis. Her performance will include original music that is inspiring, heartfelt and uplifting.
“This event brings together survivors, caregivers, advocates and members of the community to raise awareness about encephalitis and the importance of recognizing symptoms early,” organizers said. “It will be An Evening Uniting Mind, Music & Mission. One night, one cause, infinite impact.”
The evening will include live music, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Encephalitis411, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of people affected by encephalitis.
